Effects of Dispersants and Biosurfactants on Crude-Oil Biodegradation and Bacterial Community Succession

چکیده
This study evaluated the effects of three commercial dispersants (Finasol OSR 52, Slickgone NS, Superdispersant 25) and biosurfactants (rhamnolipid, trehalolipid, sophorolipid) in crude-oil seawater microcosms. We analysed crucial early bacterial response (1 3 days). In contrast, most analyses miss this key period instead focus on later time points after oil dispersant addition. By focusing stage, we show that biosurfactants, which reduce interfacial surface tension water, significantly increase abundance hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria, rate hydrocarbon biodegradation, within 24 h. A succession obligate hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria (OHCB), driven by metabolite niche partitioning, is demonstrated. Importantly, has revealed how OHCB Oleispira, hitherto considered to be a psychrophile, can dominate stages oil-spill days), outcompeting all other OHCB, at relatively high temperature 16 °C. Additionally, demonstrate some or select for specific genera, especially biosurfactant rhamnolipid, appears provide an advantageous compatibility with Pseudomonas, genus species synthesize rhamnolipid presence hydrocarbons.

Effects of Three Types of Oil Dispersants on Biodegradation of Dispersed Crude Oil in Water Surrounding Two Persian Gulf Provinces
OBJECTIVE To determine the most effective and biodegradable dispersant of spilled oil in water surrounding two Persian Gulf provinces. METHODS This study compared the effects of three dispersants, Pars 1, Pars 2, and Gamlen OD4000 on removal of oil in two Persian Gulf provinces' water. Overall, 16 stations were selected. Using the Well method, the growth rate of isolated bacteria and fungi wa...

متن کاملBacterial Biodegradation of Crude Oil Using Local Isolates
An experimental study was undertaken to assess the efficiency of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, and Acinetobacter lwoffi isolated from petroleum contaminated water and soil samples to degrade crude oil, separately and in a mixed bacterial consortium. Capillary gas chromatography was used for testing the effect of those bacterial species on the biodegradation of crude oil. Individual...
متن کاملBiodegradation of Crude Oil by an Artificial Microalgal-Bacterial Consortium
The extensive use of petroleum and petroleum products leads to serious oil contamination of the environment, thus considerable interests were taken in microbial degradation and detoxification of these pollutants. Microalgae play an important role in the environmental cleaning of pollutants. Microalgae provide O2 to aerobic bacteria to mineralize pollutants and then take-up the released CO2 [1]....
